Fairoaks Operations Ltd. (a subsidiary of Albemarle Fairoaks Airport Ltd.) was incorporated to conduct the business of airfield operations and hold the Operating Licence for the Airport. This business was previously carried out by Fairoaks Airport Ltd.
The site was owned at this point by Albemarle Fairoaks Airport Ltd. and West Register (Property Investments) Ltd.
The property at Fairoaks owned by Albermarle Fairoaks Ltd. (approx. 40 acres) was sold to West Register (Property Investments) Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Mann Aviation Group (Engineering) Ltd. entered administration and the business of Mann Aviation Group (Engineering) Ltd. was acquired by GAMA (now based at Fairoaks).
Private Flying resumed at Fairoaks after the Second World War.
Fairoaks Aero Club was operated by Universal Flying Services Ltd. (another subsidiary of General Aircraft Ltd.) until 1961, when the club changed hands. Other flying clubs (London Transport Flying Club & Midland Bank Flying Club) also operated from Fairoaks from 1946 and a number of private aircraft owners based their aircraft at Fairoaks.
Air Training (Fairoaks) changed its name to Universal Flying Services Ltd. and commenced operation of Charter and Air Taxi Operations from Fairoaks.
The Secretary of State for Air requisitioned the site. Ownership was transferred under a Conveyance dated 20th August 1937.
The hangars, control tower and ancillary buildings were also completed in 1937.
General Aircraft Ltd. was awarded the contract to manage a Reserve Flying School at Fairoaks. The School opened on 2nd Oct. 1937 as No.18 E&RFTS providing Ab Initio training (the very first stage of flight training). Initially the School operated two flights of Tiger Moths, Hinds & Audax aircraft. By 1942 the School operated over 60 Tiger Moths.
